Noah's Ark

The first thing you will notice when you look at Jerry Pinkney's Noah's Ark is the beauty of the watercolor drawing on the front cover. Open the book, and you will find more of the same. The story of Noah and how he trusted the Lord will come alive to your child with the reading of this book.

Here is just a sample of the beautiful language that Pinkney uses to tell this Bible story:

"God called to the animals,
and from aardvark to zebra they came.
The deer bounded throught the tall grass.
The elephants ran and it sounded like thunder.
The wings of the birds cast a shadow on the earth.

Two by two they came,
all the animals of the earth.
They came to the ark where Noah waited.
And Noah welcomed them.
They followed him into the ark,
and God closed the door behind them."

What I Like: I have to admit that this is the most beautifully illustrated depiction of the story of Noah's Ark that I have ever seen! I really appreciate that although this book is written by an illustrator, the written part of the story is not compromised.

What I Dislike: Nothing, really.

Overall Rating: Excellent

Age Appeal: 4-8, but my almost - two year old daughter loves it as well.
