God Made the Dinosaurs!

What kid doesn't love dinosaurs? In God Made the Dinosaurs!, written and illustrated by Todd Aaron Smith, kids learn that all dinosaurs were special - because God made them!

What I Like: The illustrations are really cute, though a bit cartoonish. But they will appeal to kids, especially if they already like dinosaurs or are into the PBS show Dinosaur Train.

What I Dislike: The story is really basic, and my feeling is that it may only appeal to very young kids. For example, the first two pages read:

"Some dinosaurs were as TALL as trees.
Some dinosaurs were as SMALL as flowers."

I honestly would have liked it if Mr. Smith had gone a little deeper into the biblical perspective of dinosaurs, or even if the back of the book would have included scripture references pertaining to dinosaurs. Even so, for a young crowd, this is a good book.

Overall Rating: Good.
