My March to the Manger
Sometimes it is difficult to help our children remember the real meaning of Christmas. My March to the Manger is written by Dr. Mary Manz Simon, and is full of the wonder of Christ's birth. This rhyming book has cut out pages that will help your child count the days until Christmas while remembering what is important about this holiday:
"The tree is so pretty with lights all aglow,
but that's not what matters this season you know."
One by one, the animals arrive at the stable where Christ will be born. Your child will be able to turn the pages and watch the cutout cow, cat, sheep, bird, and mouse join one another in the stable. Finally, a donkey arrives on Christmas day, and the Son of God is born.
What I Like: This book is very artfully put together with its sturdy and sparkly cutout animals. Children will enjoy it!
What I Dislike: Nothing
Overall Rating: Very Good
Age Appeal: 3-6
Publisher Info: Standard Publishing, 2011; ISBN: 0784732019 ; Board Book, 14pgs., 12.99.
