Children love to search for hidden pictures, and God Made Something Strong, written by Penny Reeve, includes just that. The search begins on the title page, asking little readers to find the parrot pictured within the pages of the book.Each page spread includes a description of the animals to find, a corresponding Bible verse, and a colorful illustration rendered by Roger De Klerk:
"Let's go on an adventure, what will we find? It is something that God has made. It is something strong!" The reader is asked to find the lion and the green snake. The Scripture passage is Psalm 24:8: "Who is the King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty."
What I Like: I like the Scriptures that are included on each page. The illustrations are very engaging, and there is more to enjoy than just the hidden pictures.
What I Dislike: I don't dislike anything about this sweet book.
Overall Rating: Excellent
Age Appeal: The publisher states 4-8, although I think 7-8 year old children may be a little too old for this book.
