Sir Nick of Tyme

Sir Nick of Tyme started out as a coloring book that author/illustrator Kevin Dove created. Your child will love the vivid computer generated illustrations that accompany this sweet story.

Nick, who lives in the hamlet of Tyme, is the son of a poor baker. His dream of becoming a knight seems unlikely to occur since his future as a chef is mapped out for him.

Nick is not only mannerly, generous and kind, but innovative as well. Even as an adult he has a secret longing to be a knight. He gets his chance to shine when the king decides to celebrate his 25th anniversary as ruler of Tyme. He needs a chef to bake 100 loaves of bread, 75 cakes and 50 pies, all in the short span of 3 days!

Nick is the only chef brave enough to accept the challenge. He is successful in his mission. He finishes just in the nick of time! Although the king is a cold hearted man, he is touched by Nick's perseverance and generosity to the poor. He is a better man because of meeting Nick, and decides to make him a knight.

What I Like: I usually don't like computer generated illustrations, but these are very well done. I think children will love them!

What I Dislike: The book is very expensive, which would deter me from buying it. The story line is rather predictable, but sweet and enjoyable to read.
