My Christmas Stocking: Filled With God's Love
Children may look with excitement at their Christmas stockings hanging on the mantle. They know they'll get to open them on Christmas. But do they know the story of how this tradition started? My Christmas Stocking: Filled With God's Love , by Crystal Bowman and illustrated by Claudine Gevry, will introduce your child to the story behind the hanging of the Christmas stocking.
This board book tells the story of kind Saint Nicholas,
"who wanted to share
God's message of love with his friends everywhere ...
So now we hang stockings year after year
on fireplace mantles when Christmas is near.
If you see stockings hung up in a row
bulging with gifts from the top to the toe,
remember that Christmas is all about love,
and Jesus our Savior, God's Gift from above."
What I Like: The illustrations are adorable, and the story is told in an easy flowing rhyme.
What I Dislike: I don't dislike anything about this book.
Overall Rating: Very good.
Age Appeal: 2-5
