Little One's Bible Verses

Little One's Bible Verses, written by Stephen Elkins, is a great way to introduce infants and toddlers to the Lord's word. Each page features one section of a Psalm (New International Version) and an accompanying illustration by Ellie Colton. The verses included are Psalm 4:8 ("sleep in peace"), 23:1, 6 ("the Lord is my shepherd"), 25: 4-5 ("show my your ways"), 42:8 ("God's song"), 73:23 ("in God's hands"), Psalm 81:1a-2 ("sing a joyful song"), 100:3 ("God, our creator"), 106:1 ("God's love endures"), 118:24 ("the Lord's day"), 119:11-12 ("hiding Your word"), and 121:5-6 ("He watches over you").

What I Like: The concept. With this book, you can introduce even a small infant to the Bible.

What I dislike: The illustrations could be more colorful, especially considering that the book is targeted to very young children (who, studies show, love lots of color).

Overall Rating: Very Good.

Age Appeal: 0 - 3.

Special Info: This book comes with a CD of biblically inspired lullabies. The tunes are soft, mellow, and mostly listenable. The breathy female voice gets old to me after a while, but my 19 month old daughter seems to enjoy it.
