God Made Me

God Made Me, written by Roger Priddy, is an interactive rhyming board book in which the reader can “touch, feel and see.” The pictures are of real life children of various ethnicities. This book explores the different parts of the body (hands, feet, eyes, nose, etc.) and allows the child to touch shiny fingernails and a little girl’s pig tails. The sense of smell is explored as we see a little girl using her nose to smell a flower and the reader is able to scratch and sniff it as well. This book explores the different things that we can do with our bodies (crouch down, stand up tall, etc.). The reader also discovers the emotions that we feel with pictures of children’s faces expressing different feelings. There are fun and colorful flaps to lift throughout the book. In the end, the reader is asked, “And do you know who God loves?” And in response, are a large mirror and the words, “God loves me!”
