We are left with a man whose faith is in a child, not God. He doesn't come to trust God, but rather his life is worth living because of Eppie. There is a sense of peace with God, but a Christian can see that it is a false peace. There are a lot of good themes throughout the book, but keep in mind that George Eliot was an atheist, which will be reflected in her works.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951778913748076749.post-88940735078039802422017-01-06T12:07:32.957-08:002017-01-06T12:07:32.957-08:00Cathy, currently no new content is being published...Cathy, currently no new content is being published at CCBR, and I'm sorry to say I don't know the answer to your question. I have a number I'd like to add to our large collection, but I would like the facts to be Christian, vs worldly, such as Christian, not evolution. Please get back to me if anyone knows. My first grader LOVES these books and after researching the Author Mary Pope Osborne I found this: Mary Pope Osborne initially studied drama at the University of North Carolina. In her junior year, however, she switched to a major in religion, after she discovered "an even greater realm of adventure" in the worlds of mythology and comparative religion.[3]

So either way it does seem the author has had experiences with the dark religions and is expressing that in someway in these books.WalcraftCabinetryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09787948637504668659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951778913748076749.post-18841467655705020052016-01-30T14:21:32.399-08:002016-01-30T14:21:32.399-08:00What a wonderful, encouraging review! Thanks so much for your detailed review...Hi there! Thanks so much for your detailed review. After visiting the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse at Disneyworld this summer, my 6 year old daughter {who is an avid reader}, is now interested in reading the book. I only saw a movie as a teen and don't remember much about it, let alone if it would be appropriate for a child to read/see. Your review was super helpful, especially about the killing of the animals...she's a sensitive soul, so I'm sure this will bother her too!

It's very difficult finding "chapter" books that are appropriate for a 6 year old. Most books on her reading level deal with teenage peer pressure, and coming of age scenarios. I can't wait to review some of your other "Chapter" books that may be appropriate for her!Palmettos and Pigtailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05606926302610475340noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951778913748076749.post-10104349620870591982015-10-22T11:01:17.776-07:002015-10-22T11:01:17.776-07:00Thanks for reviewing this book. I recently found this series at the thrift store and thought it was ok because it was sold on ChristianBooks.com. Well, even if you look at some of the titles and read the back a few red flags came to mind. I appreciate your willing to share your concerns. My husband stressed to me that we needed to read this series before we allowed our children to and he is right. The issue I have is that at 6 they are extremely impressionable and not be ready just yet to reason between their own beliefs and the stories they read.

I'm also a blogger and was selected to do some of the initial reviews for the Imagination Station Series which my girls love. I think for now, we will stick to those.Cleverly Changinghttp://cleverlychanging.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4951778913748076749.post-37562511749295194812015-05-25T10:45:06.373-07:002015-05-25T10:45:06.373-07:00Hi Beth,
